Peacock Colored Dreams

Hey everybody...This is just a quick post. One simple picture. I bought this poncho from Lane Bryant years ago. Maybe 8? I don't quite remember, and I never wear it...I look at it all of the time and it just never makes the final edits of my outfit and I don't know why. It's gorgeous, lots of textures, sheer, velvet, beaded all of the things that make my heart beat a little faster.

I knew I wanted to take some flicks for the blog, but also knew that there was no time to do it (Thank you Patty for the quick snap on a busy day). I've been having peacock colored dreams lately and thought about wearing my LYS jumper with my new teal suede pumps and suddenly it came to me. Toss on the beloved yet often ignored poncho!

2011 has been a really incredible year. Lots of ups and downs but blessed none the less. It began with a pretty terrible knee injury of which I'm mostly recovered. Let's see...I has an amazing time at the Winter Music conference, worked with some amazing clients, one of my best friends got married, Mexico with my family.

Lived it up, loved it up, worried, cried, laughed...baby sister bought a house. So many incredible blessings. Though I started my blog late 2010, this year was the first that I've taken it really seriously and made regular updates and it has been a blast!

I want to take this moment to thank all of you that have supported me, all of your emails, comments mean the world to me. I really love this outlet. Expressing my style and sharing things that I love as it relates to fashion with you is such a treat. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! I look forward to growing the blog and appreciate the love you've shown for my shenanigans!

I recently featured this jacket on my YouTube channel in a Lane Bryant haul. When I saw it online, I knew I had to have it and I'm SO glad that I got it.

It's probably the best faux leather jacket in the history of the world. This season is the first time that I've ever tried faux leather jackets. They just never looked quality to me and there never was a style so amazing soooo great that I didn't care that it wasn't real leather. But let me tell you, I'm OBSESSED.

The studs, oh the studs...they are incredible and well placed. Love.

Let's not forget the bag. This bag is bananas! (haha) hmm maybe lemons? But OH SO SWEET! Rebecca Minkoff is a wicked genius that makes me buy all of her bags. I have said more than one silent prayer that she would do ANYTHING remotely plus. ANYTHING, please?... *sigh*

Anyhoo...this was an incredible score at Nordstrom Rack in PA at the top of the summer. I remember when buying it a woman on line said "wow, that's so...bright. I would never find anything to wear that with". I thought to myself "GREAT! That's why I have it and you don't." Just saying...

Quick Tip: Buy bags in any color you want. "Matching" is overrated things should just "go" not "match"...If you want the bag, grab it. Don't know how to wear it? Take the easy road -Try adding it to a monochromatic outfit or jeans and a white tee.

Quick Pics

This weekend was one of those utterly amazing action packed weekends that goes down in the books. It began with a surprise party for my mom and sister in Philly, then a pretty cool hotel...followed by brunch.

Mad dash back to the city for some much needed rest. Then up for Sunday brunch with two of my besties who now live in Miami and LA. Got to meet yet another perfect and adorable baby...that's the hard part of when friends move far away. You miss some pretty major stuff. Then a little shopping followed by a movie with the best movie date in the history of the world. We saw The Debt with Helen Mirren. Pretty hardcore theme but wonderfully written, directed and acted.

Here are a few flicks of what I wore Sunday. This outfit is definitely a testament to my motto: "I shop everywhere". There are stores that I don't care for or that generally don't have things that I want but I always pop in once in a while to make sure there isn't some magic that I need in my life. Example 1: this leatherette jacket is from Lane Bryant. That's not really my speed but the jacket is amaze and someone will need to pry off my body! Example 2: I've been looking for a neon tank everywhere and where do I find the PERFECT one? K-Mart! I know, I died too...but seriously that LYS line is full of amaaaaaaze stuff. It's crazy cheap too so, grab it.
