Friend and Nemesis

Tuesday, November 30, 2010
My pals from Friend and Nemesis (FAN) have created a jewelry line that is just YUM. Kristy Lee the designer behind the line and husband Andreas (photographer) have a unique prospecitve on downtown chic that I find very appealing. As much as I love the fun and fantasy of fashion, I'm a grown ass woman (haha) so, I don't want to look like the Jr's department got a hold of me and I don't want to look stuffy or boring either.

The FAN current collection consists of necklaces, earrings and hair accessories. I completely plan on wearing the SPIKE HAIR BAND on my birthday...some sort of punky reference to a tiara I suppose.

The holiday season is about giving and FAN is giving one of my lucky readers a pair of the CHARLOTTE earrings. Type "FAN" in the comments to enter. A winner will be chosen at random. Everyone else will get FREE SHIPPING on all orders made on December 6th (St. Nickolaus Day - Andreas is German)

Holiday Dresses (part deux)

Sunday, November 28, 2010
Now that Thanksgiving has past you can take off your elastic waist pants and get gorgeous. This is just a simple round up of holiday dresses that I like which are separated into the following categories: One Shoulder, Bodycon, Sequined and Nude.

One shoulder dresses are sexy and sassy...if you are busty a good supportive strapless or convertible bra is crucial.

1. Asos 2. CurvaceousBoutique.com 3. Asos

Crazy, sexy, cool...I LOOOOVE Bodycon. Great shapewear never hurt anybody either! Cropped leather or blazers work great with these or wear it solo either way, the look is hot.

1. City Chic 2. Asos 3. Bloomingdale's or Saks

My inner rocker chic has made herself known in a major way this year. Cool sequins are the way to go. Stay clear of anything that Miss America would wear (yeck!)

1. Bloomingdale's 2. Bloomingdale's 3. Nordstrom.com

Most of us tend to flock to little black dresses but I thought these nude colored frocks where also pretty cool and also very chic.

1. Bloomingdale's 2. Nordstrom.com 3. Torrid

Here's a wildcard. THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO WEAR FOR NEW YEAR'S! *dead* I love it - Asos

OOTD- Wardrobe Staple

Saturday, November 27, 2010
Here's what I wore as I headed down to Philly for Turkey Day. I was excited to wear my snood from Asos...and I've been really feeling white button down shirts but I wanted to do it in a less stuffy sort of way. I'm really not a button down gal but this was pretty fun. Here it goes:

White shirt: Calivn Klein
Jeans: Avenue
Snood: Asos
Belt: Vintage
Boots: Steve Madden
Glasses: Prada

Tis the Season

Monday, November 22, 2010
I'm going to do a few posts on holiday dressing because, I love it. (Though I barely need an excuse to dress up) This first one quite honestly goes against everything I stand for...no offense to the featured brands but I was completely shocked while perusing Macys.com. I went onto the site to see what they had as I'm scoping out who's doing what for holiday. Finding most of the strapless jewel toned satin frocks completely boring these three stood out for me as something I'd actually want to wear. Ready...? Two are from Apple Bottoms and the other from Baby Phat *dead* I KNOW!!! Shocker! Anyhoo, my first holiday dressing post is based on one new truth "Don't judge a book (or dress) by it's cover (or label)." P.S. All three dresses are under $60!

rings n'...well ok just rings

Tuesday, November 16, 2010
Last night at dinner with a friend I threw on a ring I got in Paris at a street fair. I've had it for nearly a year and have worn it only twice which prompted two thoughts. 1. I have so much stuff that I never wear and I need to do a better job of rotating my wardrobe and 2. I LOVE rings. Rings were sort of my "thing" and I've kind of strayed away from that. I decided to feature a few of my favs. Check em' out.

1. Vintage 2. Vintage 3. Street Fair in Paris 4. Off Saks Fifth Avenue 5. Gift from one of my favorite PR girls Sevan

1. Grandma's Ring 2. Lee Angel 3. Lohman's in LA 4. Ashley Stewart (I know right!)

OOTD: Ashley Stewart Jeggings

Saturday, November 13, 2010
I live in dresses and skirts in the summer and now that fall has fallen in a major way, pants are a must. Being 5'10 is both a blessing and a curse. Long legs def make jeans look great but finding jeans that are long enough can be an issue. Usually brands only make their "classic" cuts in petite, average and tall and leave the premium to average.

I've become completely addicted to tights, which has also made a major dent in my denim days. Ashley Stewart recently invited me to test drive their new incredibly popular jeggings and I must say I was a little hesitant. The jeggings I've worn in the past were a little too much legging and not enough jean for my taste but these are incredible.

They look like jeans not tights, are insanely comfortable and lightweight to boot. They have a button and zipper closure, which I prefer to an elastic waistband and they are LONG! They do run a little big so I bought a size down. I wore them out dancing at one of my favorite parties in the city...here's a photo.

Seeing Red

lusting for lace

Monday, November 1, 2010
Finding myself lusting for lace...

I love mixing leather and lace, although NYC is getting much too cold for my leather jackets I'm looking for a leather cardigan and will use my pleather tights to get the look while the weather dips to freezing!

Here are a few goodies from Style360.com, Alloy.com, Evans and Torrid

Five latest trends in wearing sunglasses

1) One of the newest trends of sunglasses this season is Ray-Ban's Wayfarers. This fashion of sunglasses was particularly popular in 1950's and 1960's. This year thay made a major came back. Such sunglasses come in classic black, vintage dazzling colors or new two - toned frame choices which create the decisive classic style.

2) The 70's style thicker frames have been admired for a few years already. However, you should be very cautious if you decide to choose these retro styles - enthused protections of sun. They should be suitable for your face features and not to look too big.

3) Tortoise shell glasses are all still very hot this year. Stylists think that they will most likely go out of style soon, but this year they are still smart. They are universal because they can be worn with any style of clothes. A good asset for a difficult financial times!

4) One of the latest trends in sunglasses are the gradient lens. These sunglasses give emphasis to lenses, which are usually half shaded from top to bottom, and not frames. Different color lenses will make you to look fresh and very stylish.

5) The round "John Lennon" style sunglasses were mostly favored by hipies. Later they were associated with such celebrities as Philip Johnson, Le Corbusier, Dominick Dunne or Gandhi. These sunglasses helped to create unique and clear style. This year "John Lennon" style sunglasses made a huge come back especially for women. So, if you want to attract lots of minds, these unusually looking sunglasses are a perfect choice for you!
